We have reservations for a week long river cruise ( through Gate One) on the Seine in mid September. I would like to know if there is a good site to follow for up to date information on the Seine river levels? The tour goes from Paris to Rouen and back. Also, does anyone know how low is too low for the tours to operate? Any other information is welcomed too. Thank you
You may want to check Cruise Critic. I’ve been following several threads where folks are reporting on the water levels. Sounds like there are no problems on the Seine.
Only the cruise company can tell you if the cruise can be done. It depends on the type of boat they use. Apparently the Seine is less affected by drought than other rivers (for now).
You can see the water level of the Seine on this kind of site: (in French)

And have details by clicking on the measurement station, but honestly that won't answer your question, and anyway it is impossible to predict the amount of rain expected in the coming weeks.
That won't answer your question either but it's a bit of French trivia. As far as I remember we have always used the Zouave du pont de l'Alma.

Jeannette, the "Zouave du pont de l'Alma" is a historic scale for measuring floods when the water reaches its feet, but not for measuring the lack of water.
Thanks everyone for the useful information - greatly appreciated!
