Seine River Cruise question - Paris

It's been several years, so....

After my visit to the Orsay, and dinner at either Cafe Varenne or L'Ami Jean, I want to do an evening Seine cruise

The Bateaux Mouches leaves closer to the restaurant, but Vedettes leaves much closer to my hotel on Ile Ste Louis

Assuming they're both very similar, should I do the Bateaux because it's closer to the restaurant?

And, let's say I have an 8pm dinner reservation - not to rush at all, but could I mention that I need to leave enough time to make the cruise?

Or just have an earlier dinner and get to the Orsay maybe an hour before closing?

Thanks!

Vedettes de Paris seems to be mentioned the most on the site as to which one to use. I have used them myself. Vedettes site actually is showing limited routes due to flooding, that's a nice touch.

Weve taken Vedettes Pont Neuf several times during the evening hours and have always had a good experience. We've never had a reservation, although that might have changed recently. Wouldn't hurt to check to be sure.

TC, I always like to make reservations!

I might change the dates I do this so that I have dinner closer to the Vedettes…if I do it the same night as when I go to Orsay, then dinner a I’m not sure how I could make it

Thanks!

I have only taken the Bateaux Mouches dinner cruises (loved them) and it has been years since I've taken the Vedettes. If your dinner is at 8pm, most likely you'll be done by 10-10:30pm (depending on how many courses.) At that hour, I would take the Bateaux Mouches (vs. Vendettes) as it will be late already and it is close to your restaurant. Then you can walk back to hotel at your leisure. Just my 2 cents... :-)

Kim, TBH, I like the idea of doing evening at Orsay, dinner & the cruise on one evening…

I don’t dinner reservations yet, but assuming 8pm - I’d have to be out of the restaurant probably by 10 pm to be sure I have plenty of time to get to the boat …it shouldn’t take me nearly that long since one if the two potential restaurants is only a few Metro stops alway

But - should I let the waiter know I have a reservation?

Thanks!
