Has anyone tried the Segway tours ? We are headed to Paris for several weeks in July and I was thinking this might be a fun thing to do to jumpstart the trip for my 14 yo and get the lay of the land but I can't fi d many reviews so I thought I would try here .
Look on Trip Advisor where you can find up to date reviews for just about any tour company you are looking for.
Make sure you read their rules though. I know here in Germany you have to have a drivers license to go on one of the Segway tours. That means a 14 year old wouldn't be able to do this here, but in France, they may have different rules.

I have done Segway tours in Chicago and in Yorktown, VA. City Segway Tours is a good company. They are very good at making sure that everyone is comfortable operating the Segway before they set out on their tours. Our tours were of adequate length, with knowledgeable guides. I think you would enjoy it.
Yes, I've tried Segway Tours in Paris and several other places in Europe. They are indeed a lot of fun (albeit not cheap)! You may find it helpful to have a look at....
I did the Paris night tour about 4-5 years ago and had a great time. First there's a lesson in using the segways, and the tour doesn't start until the guide is sure everyone can handle them. Helmets are provided. I jokingly said I'd only wear one if it was purple - and he gave me a purple one! The guide was American and besides showing us the sights along the route, he also told us lots of interesting and amusing anecdotes. There was enough time at each stop to take photos. With the segways, you are on your feet for the whole time, of course. They also have bike tours that are a lot cheaper.
