If making a connection in terminal 2 between 2E and 2f do you have to go thru security again?

Yes, you have go through passport control and then you have to go through security, where they look through your carry-on bags. You should definitely have your 3-1-1 liquids already placed in a clear quart-size ziplock bag. If you don't, you will be forced to take them out of your clear Tom Bihn toiletries bag and put them in the zip-lock bag you get from a glowering employee. As you probably can tell, I speak from experience. :-)
It was very busy when I was there (early May), and there were lots of people trying to make quick connections. It took me approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes to make my way from 2E to 2F.
