SCNF reservations

Hi all again
A bit confused regarding train tickets & reservation
I have ordered and paid for tickets on the SCNF app
For2 train journeys
I did not see anything about a separate reservation
Needed or separate
Fee
But I just read another post on this forum re train from cdg to Provence & a separate reservation
Was refrenced as required
My last trip to France ( 10 years ago )
I do remember needing a reservation
But I think I booked thru
Capitaine site? …. So maybe that is why reservations are needed if u book thru an agency other than SCNF???
Any body have input
Thanks

You might be seeing comments about if you have a rail pass then you also need to get seat reservations on some trains like the TGV. If you bought just two train trips on the SCNF site/app then it most likely came with a seat assignment. I would double check your confirmation to be sure but I bet you already have a seat assignment.

What were the journeys you booked? TGV and IC trains come with seat reservations. TER trains have no seat reservations and are open seating. If you were using a Eurail Pass, then you would need separate seat reservations for TGV tickets, but not for tickets bought outright that include the seat reservation. When I booked seats using Captain Train 10 years ago, all the TGV tickets included seat reservations. TER tickets had to be retrieved at the station.

If I book a TER train with no assigned seats
