I will be traveling solo to Sarlat-la-Canéda for the annual truffle festival. I can't find information on purchase of tickets to the events, only an agenda for the two days. If anyone knows of an english-speaking group that takes in visitors it would be rather nice to meet up with people to enjoy the festivities. My french language skills are growing, but not good enough for an immersion yet and I would hate to miss out on the truffle experiences. Any ideas or other forums I could check would be welcome. Thanks!
You don't need to buy tickets for the events since it's free and it takes place in the streets of Sarlat.
In the stands set up in Sarlat, tastings of recipes made with truffles are at a symbolic price of a few euros
Only the purchase of truffles will obviously have to be paid if you can afford it (around €1,200/kg)
No need to speak French to experience the atmosphere.
There are some paid activities: guided tours, cooking classes, etc. I don't know if they are possible in English, check on site with the tourist office.
