Sandeman Tours - reservations needed?

Four of us are traveling to Paris in early June. We are planning to take the Latin Quarter Tour or the Free Paris Tour (it will depend on the time spent at other locations that day). We'd like to play it by ear (to allow for flexibility at other sights), but I'm wondering if it would be better to get reservations. Is it necessary? Are these tours booked up, generally?

I took this tour in February.
The reason they ask you to book in advance is to make sure there are enough guides that day for the number of people; otherwise you would be turned away.
Too many unreserved people turned up for a similar free tour in Amsterdam the following week when I was there, and they couldn't do the tour as there were not enough guides.
The Paris tour was fine, but the guide asked for money every 10 minutes.
Paris Walks has better tours.

S Jackson, any particular Paris Walks tour you could recommend? We will be there on Thursday, Friday, Saturday. Thanks!

Hi:
I don't remember which days I did which tours with Paris Walks, but I did the one around Montmartre, which was so good I went back two days later and did it again with a friend, following the same route by ourselves.
This last trip I did the Latin Quarter tour, also excellent.
The guides are so knowledgeable, and also in London too with the same company.
You don't have to reserve with Paris Walks, just show up.
