Saint Chapelle/Conciergerie Questions

Hi!

My family is interested in seeing Saint Chapelle and the Conciergerie while in Paris. We are planning to purchase the Paris Museum pass upon arrival at CDG airport. A couple questions I was hoping to get help with:
1) I saw on a travel website that Saint Chapelle offers free guided tours between 11-3. Is this still happening in 2021...or might this be old information pre-Covid? If not, would the audioguide be worth purchasing instead (2 adults, 10 year old and 12 year old in our family). Or, there is supposedly an app on the stained glass windows that you can get on your phone.
2) You can purchase a free combo ticket on the Saint Chapelle website for both attractions (but the Conciergerie website does not offer the combo ticket). I'm assuming that the time you select on the Saint Chapelle website would be for Saint Chapelle even if you are purchasing the combo ticket...or could you show up at the Conciergerie at that time?

3) Would we potentially need to wait for a long time at the Conciergerie (without a timed entrance as the timed entrance would be used at Saint Chapelle) and it would just make more sense to book both attractions separately?

Thank you!

I don't ever remember a line at the Conciergerie. Last time I went the Sainte-Chapelle, there were some placards in the upper hall describing the biblical scenes in various panels. I don't know how much a guide can add to this sight - just enjoy the beauty of the stained glass. Binoculars are very helpful to see the detail.

wait.
you would book both museums' time slots online, since you have the PMP, there's an option for both b/c I just did it. no need to purchase a combo ticket as they're both covered by the PMP.

I booked St Chapelle for 9 and the Conciergerie for 10 am.

Currently, due to the Bataclan trial, there is extra security M-F for both sites, so keep that in mind.

I did not get the guide at St Chapelle.

Hope this helps.

The security due to the trial is enormous. I was planning to tour the island and every street I attempted was blocked by men with machine guns. So definitely factor that in. Security has always been tight for St Chapelle because of its location but with this very dangerous trial underway it is like a war zone for security.

Yes, thank you! For the combo ticket, there was a free option since we would have the Paris Museum pass. Glad to hear that the Conciergerie isn't normally that busy. Did you show up at the security line at the time you signed up for? Or earlier knowing there was a crazy line?

We are planning to visit on December 23rd. Do you think the trial would still be going on that close to Christmas?
