I want to visit Saint Chapelle the last week of September but it appears to me that you need a tour. Can you buy a ticket on line or at the site? Most tours are sold out for that time period and I can not figure out if the line will be long unless I have a tour time.
I find no full explanation about how to enter and the cost for a visit .
The official website for Sainte Chapelle is: https://www.sainte-chapelle.fr/ In the upper right-hand corner there are 3 drop-down menus. To get an English version of the website choose the last drop-down "fr" and change it to "en". Right next to that menu is a button labelled "Tickets". Click on that and you will find 3 ticket choices. You can choose just admission by clicking "Visit the Monument". I put two tickets in my cart and then it took me to the calendar to choose a date. There's availability September 25-30, though only the 6 p.m. slot on the 25th. Cost is 22 Euro per ticket.
Will you have the museum pass? If so that site also has all the info including link to book reservation time for entry.
While it's possible to buy a ticket on site if available, you really should book in advance to save time.
The "tour" is self guided. You can visit both the upper (windows) and the lower chambers.
Like Leslie, I am seeing tickets available from September 25-30. Are you looking on the official site Sainte-Chapelle?
Also, allow extra time for security before your visit.

And yes, do allow plenty of time for security check, due to the location of the chapel. Get in the liner for your reservation time (they are for every half hour).
No tour or tour guide needed IMO. Cost pp is 22 euro entry fee. I suggest going upstairs first to see the actual chapel, and downstairs afterward, esp. if you are short on time. For me, an hour suffices.

Also one tip: If you carry a pocketknife, you will lose this item at checkin. I was not offered a locker to check it - just into the bin. It's part of the government complex.
Yes to the above. My brother had one of those credit card utility knife things and they were going to confiscate it. He ran outside and it at the entryway and it was there when we were finished.
