Safety wise area near Ibis Styles Paris Gare de l'Est Château Landon

I am travelling to Paris mid August 2016 for 3 nights. Got a good deal at Ibis Styles Paris Gare de l'Est Château Landon.
I see that it is very near to Metro & 10 mins walk to Gare De Nord. Does anyone know about the Safety near this area? Since we would be coming late at nights & probably walking from Gare De Nord to our hotel.
My arrival is to CDG airport & travel to Swiss from Gare de Lyon after 3 nights in Paris.

FYI..I am also getting an option of Ibis Styles Paris Bercy at a higher price.

There is nothing wrong with that area. It's not plush but more working class and a few blocks further it become trendy. There are several other hotels and restaurants along that same block--Lebanese, Italian, French, Chinese--and several across from the Gare de l'Est. I would stay there.
This location is much slightly more convenient than the Bercy option.
FYI, Ibis Styles are hotels that Ibis buys up and adds to their line, so they aren't cookie-cutter the way the Ibis are.

The only thing I might worry about is that since it's so close to the Gare de l'Est, there might be some train noise.
