I'm in Paris at the end of August with my mother. I wanted to see Versailles as I've never been on previous trips, however, my mother has already been so I don't want to drag her to do the same thing. As an alternative, I thought that we could do the Royal Serenade and night fountains (on the day we arrive) - going in the afternoon and walking around the town before doing this. I can always go back and see more of the palace and gardens some other year but i figured that this was a way to see the (not as crowded) Hall of Mirrors and some of the gardens without having to buy regular tickets for the full day (just the tickets for the royal serenade and fountains).
Is it worth doing? Was I correct in my assessment? As we arrive that day after an overnight flight, I want to make sure that it's worthwhile. Any tips/advice?
