Roussillon Restaurants/Road Trips

My wife and I will be traveling by car and spending 3 nights in Roussillon in late September. I would appreciate restaurant and day trip recommendations.

Day trips: Visit the beautiful town of Isle-sur-la-Sorgue. Visit the fascinating castle ruins at Les Baux de Provence. You could do both of these in one day-trip.

Roussillon is in the middle of the Luberon so I would suggest checking on-line for people lists of favorite Luberon villages. There are many and everyone's list is slightly different but most are no more than 20 or 30 minutes from Roussillon.
Rick's basic list here: https://www.ricksteves.com/watch-read-listen/read/articles/hill-towns-of-the-luberon

Bonnieux is a few minutes away and - if you don't mind walking uphill - was small and very charming. It was also market day so I thing it was more crowded than usual but we enjoyed it. Gordes is the most famous town and whether that's a reason to visit or skip and search out less discovered places is up to you. Saignon looked really interesting but we didn't get there.

We ate in Bonnieux rather than Roussillon so I'm afraid I don't have any restaurant recommendations. There aren't that many places so in a couple days you'll probably try most of them. We stayed in Isle-sur-la-Sorgue and it feels like a big city compared to the smaller hilltowns.

With so many choices you have to balance how many places you want to see, how long you stay, the heat and what you're up for. You can't see them all so would make a list of potential places and see as many as is fun and interesting.

Enjoy,
