Rouffignac Cave allow small backpacks?

Quick question since there isn't any information online. Does the cave allow you to wear or being backpacks/bags up to 11.5 x 16.5 x 6"?

It's small but I don't want to be leaving my fancy camera unprotected in a vehicle.

we had one with us when we did this a few years ago. You are sitting in a train car -- we had a small day pack and women had purses. When in doubt always carry the backpack like a purse over your arm or over one shoulder and under your arm like a shoulder bag -- better if a woman does it -- we have more than once had my husband turned away with a backpack but no problem with me holding it like a shoulder bag-- for small bags of course.

Small bags/backpacks are allowed in the cave. If yours can reasonably be considered a small backpack, doesn’t get in the way of your movements or bother other visitors,it should be fine.

I concur with Janet in how you carry it. On your back you run the risk of butting into some one else or bumping into an object or wall, especially in smaller spaces. (I have more than once been smacked by someone who is clueless about how far out their backpack sticks.) Carry it like a shoulder purse, with the bag part under your arm, not just to be able to keep it while you visit the caves, but to be considerate of others.
