Room in Annecy with good beds

We'll be staying in Annecy for 3 nights this summer. Our hotel doesn't have to be luxurious or even particularly modern. What it does have to have is good beds and a quiet enough location that street noise won't keep us awake. (I'm thinking we might be sleeping with our windows open.) Atmosphere and a friendly staff are probably going to contribute more to our enjoyment than spiffy lobbies or elevators.

I'd appreciate feedback about Annecy hotels from anyone who's stayed there recently.

Hi, We only stayed in Annecy for one night. And wished we had stayed longer. But the ibis vielle ville is a good deal. Agreed that its a chain hotel, but it is well located and has one of the most comfortable beds i have slept in. They even advertise it on their site. Check it out. Also most of the rooms overlook a canal or a inner square so its quiet. Hope that helps..

I stayed at the Hotel du Chateau a couple of years ago and liked it a lot. It's up by the chateau overlooking the town so it was very quiet in the evenings and I slept very well there. I can't say I remember exactly what the bed was like but I know if it was bad I would definitely remember that, so it must have been okay. It's a bit of a walk down to town (not far, just a bit steep) so if you're bothered by mobility issues it probably wouldn't work but I liked it fine. It has a lovely terrace with lots of flowers and a very nice view. The staff was very friendly and helpful. It's more of a budget friendly hotel but I would recommend it highly and it gets good reviews on booking.com and TA. I was there in July and, again, I don't remember if I slept with the windows open or not but I know it wasn't uncomfortably hot - I would have remembered that.

We've stayed at he Hotel Alexandra in the center and liked it (another place we stayed at I won't mention). I don't remember about the bed, but like the previous poster, I would probably have remembered if it had been uncomfortable. We also have friends who stayed at the Hotel du Chateau and praised it highly.
