I would like to take a roof top tour in Paris. I will be with my grandchild so we don't want to pay for wine, etc. that neither of us would drink. I found several listings of roof tops to visit but not a tour that would take you to many of them. Can someone make a suggestion?
I have never heard of this !
New small business idea - this can be my weekend gig
DIY, you'll see plenty of rooftops by just visiting several tourists sights.
The Towers of Notre Dame will give you rooftop views.
If you're in Paris in the summer, climb up to the Panorama at the Pantheon.
Visit the terrace at the Institute de Monde Arabe.
Free rooftop views from the department stores on Blvd. Haussmann- Galeries Lafayette and Printemps.
Head up to Sacre Coeur and see the city spread out before you.
Book an "attic" room for your stay.
Kim! I volunteer to be your guinea pig on your inaugural roof top tour.
I agree with Jean, you will see plenty of them just looking out windows of your hotel and various venues. One of the things I do is to try and see if I can see the Eiffel Tower from various locations which always involves seeing lots of roof tops. Seriously, windows in museums often have great elevated views!!
Even with not an attic room you will likely have roof top views from your hotel window. On my last trip I was in a room I had not stayed in in one of my go-to hotels and there was the coolest chimney pots right in sight of my window. Very interesting ceramic or terra cotta pipe.
In addition to the suggestions from Jean, if it's warm weather the balcony area of the Musee d'Orsay might also be open. It's a hit or miss thing though...
When are you traveling?
