Taking a Rick Steves tour to Southern France in June. Having a free day in sarlat I would like to visit subject city. Is this possible as a day trip?

If I remember correctly there was not much else to do that day other than visit the market and wishing we had planned something ahead of time. It looks as though you would have to rent a car to get to that city in a reasonable amount of time looking at how long it takes to get there with multiple train connections….but maybe someone on here has specific info.

In June, it's not possible to get to Rocamadour from Sarlat without a car. It's only possible in July and August by taking a local bus to Souillac and then a seasonal bus to Rocamadour.
Keep in mind that Rocamadour is extremely touristy. If you only have one day, there are still a few other options in Sarlat or nearby without a car, depending on your interests (Caves, Castles, Villlages).
