Robion or Cabrieres d’Avignon?

Hello all,

We are looking to rent a house in the Luberon region next summer for 1 month. We are 6 adults and 4 children from age 4 to 14. We have been doing a lot of research and have narrowed it down to two homes, one in Robion and one in Cabrieres d’Avignon. We are not looking to run all over France but rather to visit the small villages, go to the markets, cook meals from local ingredients and just relax. We would also like to do some biking and hiking.

Wondering if anyone has any input on which of these towns might be better to base ourselves. Also, one of the places has air-conditioning in all bedrooms and one does not. Should this be a major factor given our dates of June 13 until July 11?

Thank you for any input in helping us decide between these last two houses, both of which are magnificent.

Although some of the buildings in that area have extremely thick walls and can remain reasonably cool if you keep the shutters closed during the hot part of the day, that's not something I would count on. In addition, you are unlikely to have screens at the windows, so using open windows for ventilation at night may be impractical, due to insects.

Ten people living under the same roof for a month, sweltering in the heat--I'd be very concerned.
