Hi...I need some tips...we are travelling by car from Lyon to Sarlat-la-Caneda mid April and wondering where would be a great place to stay the night. One idea is Carcassone...although we do both love th beach and ocean so wondered if there was anywhere along thr coast that you could recommend?...many thanks 😊

Have you Google-mapped the route? Carcassonne is not on it, that is, not without adding a lot of driving. Its a 4 hour drive from Lyon to Sarlat. Are you wanting to purposely go somewhere else (along the coast) first and then head to Sarlat?

Not sure why you would need to overnight- it's a 4 hour drive- w/sw.
The "coast" is a 3 hour drive directly south from Lyon.

Thank you all for your responses....firstly yes we have looked at map, and we had decided to a have a look down south rather than go direct, although I can see now that maybe we can review that.
