Riviera Xmas Day

I will be staying a week based in Villefranche-sur-Mer using public transportation during the Xmas holiday. What can people suggest for a good way to spend Xmas day?

I imagine we will probably have to go to Nice to find a good restaurant that is open? Then maybe a stroll along the promenade?

Any tips or suggestions would be welcome!

I remember one of Rick's radio shows mentioning that the French like to stay home and do a family dinner on Christmas Day. But I am sure the Hotels will have dining available. It might be smart to make reservations there for a Christmas Meal. Or you could buy a bunch of goodies to snack on the day before. Others on this site might have a better idea of the what's up now!

acechrist,
You might want to attend a church service, even if you are not religious. There could be lovely music and it would be a relaxing way to begin the day. You needn't participate in the mass (or other services).
Definitely check the hotels for dinner that day, and reserve as soon as you can. The hours may be limilted or different as well.
