Riverboat Cruise (Munich to Amsterdam) and Train to Paris

We are planning a few days in Paris at either the beginning or end of our cruise. Any suggestions on which agenda would make more sense.

Paris is a 3-4 hour ride by high-speed Thalys train from Amsterdam. Train from Paris to Munich takes much longer. Does that help answer your question? Or is there another question in there?
