Has anyone taken one ? Barge cruises thru canals ? Please share experience. Any recommendations? Thanks

We have done one river cruise in southern France via Viking that was very enjoyable and a good experience. Will repeat it next year on one of the Germany rivers. We have had friends that did a canal barge cruise in France that they absolutely loved it. Far more expensive than a standard river cruise. What are you looking for or want to do?

curious about the stops they make on their trip , do they allow free time on your own? was the food good ? any tipping ? is there limited walking? I do have some knee problems I walk slowing, would I slow down other people ? Which one did you take ? I have a Viking brochure and many others too. Been to paris three years ago didn't the knee problems then. We went solo did all the walking to all sites and even went to Avignon to visit family there. Any advice, I am a little slower and I want to enjoy a relaxing trip. thanks
