Hello! Our train from Mont-Saint-Michel/Pontorson was cancelled today. We have a hotel in Saint Malo tonight.

No uber cars around but I’ve heard a different service used here. Can anyone give me the name?

No trains to Rennes all day!! There were several of us waiting for it. One man called and was told they cancelled the trains Saturday. We bought our tickets last night. You would think you wouldn’t be able to buy train tickets on a cancelled train!!

We are hoping the bus isn’t cancelled! We try that next.

There was a train strike that should have ended Saturday. However, checking the www.oui.sncf website, all trains from Pontorson to Paris are cancelled at least through Christmas. If you can reach Rennes, there are a number of bus options listed on the SNCF website.

Uber is an American company. You might have better luck using Bolt or FreeNow for car service in France. Try Blablacar for bus options from Pontorson:

https://www.blablacar.fr/ride-sharing/pontorson/

Things are not likely to get better. I would start by contacting the Office de Tourisme in Pontorson:

https://www.ot-montsaintmichel.com/

If they are closed, I would also contact the Office de Tourisme in Rennes and ask for transportation options from Pontorson:

https://www.tourisme-rennes.com/

Offices de Tourisme are staffed with people who speak English.

@tocard, thank you! Where did you find the train cancellation information? I would like to see if we should just try to get to Rennes and skip Saint Malo. We have a hotel there but it may be that we need to stay in bigger places to ensure a train?

Check the link I provided. If the website does not have an English language option, which I believe it does, the word supprimé in French means removed or cancelled in English. Blablacar is likely to be your best option.

We are on a bus to Dol-de-Bretagne. Trains are running from there. :) Thanks for your help. :)
