Ride from Hendaye to Calais 21 or 22 December

Hi All
I need a ride from Hendaye or thereabouts to Calais 21 or 22 December. "Bla ambassador" with 9 years travel experience. Small case. Willing to pay my way. Hope someone can help me out. Thanks in advance!

If you really want to use BlaBlaCar, this is probably not the right forum to ask for rides. Besides, this is about 11 hours on the road, and Hendaye is a small place: you might want to take the train to Bordeaux at least.

that is the longest possible route across the longest possible nearly straight line in France - 1,100 km.

Right before Christmas. I wonder how many will be making that exact trip, I think finding a ride would be tough. Train would be easier.

But then I ask what will you do in Calais? If you want a ferry to Dover you should know that they are not easy to get anymore. Only one company does foot passengers on that route, that is P&O which has all sorts of labour problems and has had plenty of safety issues. They only provide foot passenger service on a few of their services each day.

Eurostar no longer calls at Calais.

The easiest way to ride a ferry over to England from France is to go to Paris, then get Flixbus or one of their competitors over. Flixbus use various of the ferry companies by day and by night. Check the schedules as some services do use the Channel Tunnel vehicle shuttle. A through ticket with them often is the same or even less than a ferry ticket alone, and the ferry company usually gives a free meal to coach passengers.

Today Flixbus have two Hendaye to London buses (change at Paris) for £86 on 21 December or £112 on 22 December.

For the same fare on each day there is also a bus to Manchester (changing also at Paris).

Hendaye to Paris starts at £30 on Flixbus

Hi All
First of all, thanks for showing interest and replying so quickly.
Some of you seem to think this is my first rodeo. It ain't.
I live in a poorly-served (transport-wise) part of northern Spain, which requires travellers to go for 120 km plus to get to an airport. Badger points out that I should take the train, but there are no tickets left from Hendaye for those days.
I have already done this trip with Bla from south London to San Sebastian (northern Spain). It was fast, cheap and was only 4 hours longer than flying by plane taking everything into account. My aim is to find someone driving up from Spain/southern France. I do take the point that this may might not be the ideal forum for my trip, but which one is?
Thanks again for the advice and any new ideas would be very welcome. This forum rocks!

SNCF connect has multiple trains available for those dates- https://www.sncf-connect.com

I have just checked. 21 December is notably cheaper than 22 December.

Since it's your first post in this forum, it's very hard for us to know anything about your experience with equestrian activities.

But when I look at SNCF's website, I see several departures from Hendaye to Paris with seats left at reasonable prices on the dates you mention.

Thanks to Badger and isn31c for showing that SNCF has more seats/trains available than before. Prices are good too.
