Rick steves France guide book

I’m traveling at the end of may to France. Is the new version available now or will I miss out on the new version?

You need to contact the RS office.

This forum is 'civilians' , not RS staff/employees.

You will need the latest version as those sneaky French moved La Tour Eiffel.

Edited to Add: I see that while I was typing all the following, Philip was posting a precise date… or is that release date May ‘26, and not necessarily the 26th of May in ‘26 ? I’d contact his office stating this coming Tuesday. May 26 is the day after Memorial Day.

Anyway, here’s what I originally posted, before adding the bit above: Rick’s guidebook details on this Website says that the newest editions of France arrive in May 2026. I’m not sure exactly when during this month that’ll be, and whether they arrive in his store in Edmunds, Washington first, or at a bookstore near you. Apparently they weren’t available before this weekend, and Rick’s office is closed tomorrow, May 4, so it would be this coming Tuesday, May 5, before so do e there could give you any updates they may have.

In the meantime, I see that Rick’s marked his 2024 edition books half off, so now just $15.00. On Rick’s Website, click on the blue “Shop Online” bar, then click on “Guidebooks,” then “France,” and you’ll see a list of all the changes and updates that should be noted, which weren’t reflected in that older book. If you want/need the very latest information, it might be worth waiting, and springing for the full price on the latest book. Hopefully it’s available before you depart for France.

The ebook is also to be released on May 26th per the Amazon site. If you read on a Kindle app on your phone or other device you can easily purchase it and it will download on the 26th wherever you are.

I’d still recommend double checking opening/closing times and prices directly with a venue’s website as the book information will be months old by the publication date.
