Rick Steves Discount - Hotels

I am looking to book a room at Hotel de la Tulipe in Paris - the 2014 guidebook indicates that a 10% discount will be offered if booked directly, and confirmation via email when making inquiries about the hotel. Do I simply note that in the comments portion of the booking form on the website?

I had originally requested the family suite for 7 nights - I received an email stating that it is not available for the first three nights. However, in looking at the website, it looks like it is available for the entire period in question...so I am tempted to book from the website instead of through email. Just want to make sure the discount is honored...

I always mention that I read about the hotel in the Rick Steves guidebook when I e-mail the hotel in order to get the discount.

Hi Samantha, I suggest that you call the hotel and tell them that the website shows that the room you want is available. That will give you the chance to mention the RS discount.

The fact that the booking engine has a comments field is certainly useful. After requesting booking online, you should expect an email confirmation that the room is available all 7 nights. Can't really guess whether there's a glitch in the system or another guest changed plans. Be prepared to show the book upon check-in , if anyone needs a reminder of the deal.
