Ribeauvillé and Riquewihr by Bus from Colmar

Visiting Colmar, France the first week of December, 2023 as one segment of a two-week Christmas Markets Trip.
As we are staying on weekdays, the weekend Christmas Markets in above cities will not be open unfortunately, but because both cities are so close, we would still like to visit them

Anyone had any experience going to these cities by bus? Looks like buses run from Colmar at a stop/terminal in front of the train station to each city, but I am a little confused by the routes and connections. We would visit both cities leaving in early morning from Colmar and returning by 7:00 p.m. or so.

Any help/suggestions will be appreciated.

Not to Riquewwihr or Ribeauville, but we did take the bus to Kaisersberg and back a few years ago. Tourist info desk in the train station was very helpful getting the schedule, departure location and selling us tickets.

Here is a journey planner for the district with the bus schedules. Looks like it only goes out 30 days, so check again in November.

We will be staying in Colmar in August. We plan to use the Kutzig shuttle bus from Colmar to nearby towns on the Alsace Wine Route: Ribeauvillé, Hunawihr, Riquewihr, Kaysersberg, Turckheim, Eguisheim, and Voegtlinshoffen. About 7 stops per day in each of the towns. I contacted Kutzig by e-mail recently and they confirmed that the shuttle bus will be running daily in August, except for Mondays.

Thanks for the suggestions. We do not want to use the shuttles and in fact will be staying in Eguisheim a couple of nights that week.
I will study the schedules more and get a bus route map from Colmar to Ribeauville and Riquewihr to figure out a way to see both cities on a long weekday trip from Colmar.

Just go to the tourist information office when you get to Colmar. They will give you the schedule and tell you where you can catch the bus. The bus is very inexpensive and easy — it does a loop around several of the wine villages. You can get on and off whenever you want all day. We got off at Ribeauvillé, walked to Riquewihr, and caught the bus back home from there. This was in March 2022. You would need to check the schedule for December.

BTW, just want to make sure you know these are small villages, not cities.
