We will be flying in at CDG in a few weeks and have made arrangements to rent a car. We will be returning that car the following week when we fly out of Terminal 2E. I have looked on-line for maps of CDG and where the rental return lots are but am still unclear. Is there anyone out there who has done this, and if so, how does it work? Even though we plan to be at the airport well in advance, I don't want to waste time. Any advice? Thanks!!
I have returned cars at CDG - The term for rentals is " Voitures de Location " look at this map , as you approach the exit on your left you will descend to the carpark - all the rental agencies are there https://www.google.com/maps/search/location+des+voitures+cdg/@49.0027503,2.567081,17.5z also look at this photo - https://www.google.com/maps/@49.0035034,2.5681308,3a,53.5y,57.42h,89.31t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1sphfDC0M5AWX25wJoolpv1Q!2e0!7i13312!8i6656!6m1!1e1
OK, it took us a few trips around the airport to find the Enterprise drop off spot, but it WAS well signed -- just had to make almost a U-turn (kind worker stopped the traffic when he recognized us from a prior drive-through when we missed the turn) So build in some extra time. On the BIG plus side, the Enterprise office staff found my phone where it had dropped off my lap in the car, and was holding it for me when we rushed back from the hotel.
If you're picking up at CDG, they can give you specific drop off instructions, maybe even a map with the lots marked.
We did this a few years back, had no real problem. It's a big airport but the signage was OK. Turning in the car didn't take long, but you're wise to allow enough time to circle around awhile in case you don't spot the turnoff right away.
I can't give exact directions, but the huge ovoid Sheraton in the middle of T2 at CDG is a good landmark. If one stands in the tiny driveway into the Sheraton, you can look over the railing & see the car return far down below, at the ground level in the center of the semi circular terminal buildings. Just look for the towering Sheraton & descend to the bottom of it.
