Retrieving liquid items from CDG security through "Tripperty"??

So I made the rookie mistake of packing brand new tubes of lotion from our visit to the L'Occitaine factory in my carry-on, flying home from CDG. Of course they were found and confiscated by security at CDG. They said they would throw them away or we could opt to have them shipped to us for 60 Euros via a company called "Tripperty". I am skeptical of mailing them since they were put in a flimsy bubble mailer when surrendered and not at all protected. I could see them being completely destroyed upon arrival. I wanted to see if anyone has opted for this service and if they successfully received their items.

We are currently home and have 21 days to decide if we want to mail the items or have them thrown away. It will cost $115 to replace items if we rebuy them at home. Thank you for any advice!

They sit on your stuff for 3 weeks before they toss it? Odd

Transport for London keeps things up to 90 days before auctioning them - 21 is short

But Nigel the difference is they took that stuff away from us because it was dangerous and it might cause a plane to blow up, but they can hang onto it for 21 days? After all that makes perfect sense. LOL

Anytime they take away from me I make a point of pouring it out because if it’s too dangerous take on the plane, we certainly wouldn’t want it behind security where it can blow that up would we? They seemed rather upset in New York when I poured out an entire bottle of rum. Wonder why? you don’t suppose they might’ve been planning to keep it for their Christmas party?

The fact that they’re holding onto “dangerous liquid” for 21 days and then will ship them to you in the mail just proves that this is theater and not security.

YES Carol!!!! My thoughts EXACTLY. The lotions were all factory sealed and the great irony is that they are available for purchase at the duty free shop 20 feet from the security. It's absolutely a joke. At least we don't have to take our shoes off any more. Eye roll.

I decided today to pay the absurd 60 Euros to see if/how the items come back. Not holding my breath... I will keep you all posted with the status of the items if/when I ever see them again.
