can anyone recommend a good restaurant not too far from Boulevard Haussman?
Blvd Haussmann is almost 2 kilometers long and all of is pretty near or in the Opera District. Do you want to be near a particular metro station? French food? Budget? In the absence of those criteria, how about Le Persil Fleur -- a couple of blocks off Blvd Haussman near Auber RER station or maybe Cafe de la Paix near the Chaussee d'Antin metro stop area of Blvd Haussmann or Au Petit Riche near Richelieu-Drouot metro stop.
I should have been more specific. Looking for a good French food restaurant that is not too touristy walking distance from Paris Marriott Opera hotel which is located at Boulevard Haussman. thank you
Okay, then I reiterate the Au Petit Riche suggestion. It is less than 5 minutes (walking) from your hotel. Go at 7 and there may be Americans there enjoying an excellent traditional French meal but then again most restaurants in Paris that I have been to at 7 PM have been more or less empty of French diners. Go at 9 or 8:30 and voila, there is a totally different feel. I don't think it is touristy but I am not sure what that means anymore. Want to walk one minute further along Rue Peletier for Le Chenin, which is a bit more casual, less expensive and more modern (for lack of a better word). Both are excellent.

Happy travels.
One caution about Le Petit Riche - when I went there the maitre d' gave me an English menu without asking, and then when my waiter arrived to take my order he spoke no English at all and I had to translate from the English menu into French for him. Fortunately my French is good enough that it was more funny than a problem, but maybe your's isn't.
Caillebotte is a ten minute walk, and is a fantastic spot at 8 Rue Hippolyte Lebas, 75009. Somewhat traditional, somewhat modern, very creative. 30-45 euro pp sans vin.
