Two of us did a day trip to Rouen the last week of March, following suggestions in RS guidebook. We stopped at the chocolate shop, a pastry shop to pick up items for eating later. We were ready to eat at 6, so went back to the square at Jeanne d'Arc Church. I know this is a touristy area, but there weren't many other tourists at that time. We ate at Marcel, because we noted canard breast and foie grass were on the menu. My partner had the breast, I had the foie gras, we shared a side order of potatoes, and had a glass of wine each. Total was 41 euros (service included). Lots of people were sitting outside under tents. The square is a popular place for after-work drinks and appetizers, with most brasseries open for service all day. Places outside the cathedral were mostly closed when we got there mid-afternoon, so I assume those places had limited lunch hours.
