Any recommendations for great neighborhood restaurants in the Fifth in Paris? In the triangle between the Pantheon, the Sorbonne, and Place Monge would be perfect! Could be any cuisine. Price is an object only in that we aren't looking for multiple Michelin stars or anything too over the top. But we are looking for the best food that's not that. Help! Je vous remercie d'avance!
Hebe, off place Maubert, is excellent! Mediterranean-inspired cuisine.
Hébé is excellent but I would also include: Lilane, l´Initial, Oh Purée, and just a bit farther south, Au Bon Coin.
I enjoy Cafe Panis, especially late at night, because I sit by the window with a view of Notre Dame. I also enjoy the food. For something different, Le Cedre is a Lebanese restaurant.
Our go to for the big blow out meal on visits -- for birthdays, anniversaries etc is l'Initial with a wonderful tasting menu for 60 Euro or so. We also enjoyed a meal at La Tour d'Argent a few years ago and another at le Balzar near the Cluny/Sorbonne. All of these should be reserved; the first two weeks ahead if possible.
