Hello! I am staying in Lyon in December and I am looking for restaurant suggestions for New Year's Eve. Unfortunately, New Year's Eve falls on a Sunday night and most restaurants seem to be closed on Sundays and Mondays. I'm having difficulty finding any reservations. What do you suggest?
Sorry that this isn't specific, but I'd go with a restaurant at one of the nice hotels in Lyons. In several trips, I've always stayed at an apartment, not a hotel, so I don't have a particular recommendation. I've eaten at many fabulous places in the Croix Rousse neighborhood, but they're pretty much family-run places, and are probably gong to be closed that night, as you indicated. Good luck; Lyon's a wonderful place!
It would be expensive but a fantastic meal; I wonder if any of the Paul Bocuse places would be open that night?
Paul Bocuse is open for Saint-Sylvestre (NYE), but costs 330 EU.
You might check out Leon de Lyon (http://www.bistrotsdecuisiniers.com/en/leon-de-lyon-2/). We enjoyed our lunch here a few years ago at the recommendation of the man we rented our apartment from. They're open every day and have a NYE menu posted for 74 euros.
Le Bouchon des Filles was outstanding. We dined there 2 years ago and it was wonderful.
you want to check it out.
Have fun !
