We loved visiting this region! Some restaurant and winery suggestions:
- Les Voyageurs (http://www.voyageursenprovence.fr/) in St. Saturnin les Apt – A little family-owned hotel and restaurant. Feels very
authentic and not at all touristy. One of our favorite meals of our trip.
- Restaurant David in Roussillon – Overlooks the ochre cliffs. Sit outside if it’s warm enough! We expected this to be more about the location than the food but we really enjoyed our meal. There’s a winery nearby called Domaine Tara (www.domainedetara.com) where we had a great experience at the tasting room – very warm and welcoming.
- La Recreation (http://la-recre-lourmarin.com/) in Lourmarin – We didn’t have time to go here but the woman running the Domaine Tara tasting room said this is her favorite village and favorite restaurant in the area. She also recommended the winery Chateau Font Vert.
- La Fontaine in Villars – We haven't eaten here either but it was highly recommended by the owners of the B&B we stayed at and a favorite of their regular guests. It was fully booked when we were visiting, so that's a good sign. :)
