Restaurant Suggestion for Lyon and Annecy

Hi guys!

I'll be visiting France for the first time in mid May (solo trip). I'm a huge foodie and my dad worked at a French seafood restaurant in NY as well so I'm extremely excited to be experiencing French cuisine in Lyon and Annecy. I will be there 5 nights and am okay with splurging a couple of times.

Would love restaurant suggestions for dinner, lunch, brunch/breakfast, pastries, dessert....anything!!

happy eating!

Lyon: Bouchon Thomas, Les Apothicaires, and Le Bouchon des Filles.

I'm a huge foodie

In that case, you should make sure to visit a Bouchon or two (or three) when in Lyon.

I will be in Lyon a few weeks later with my wife, but can't really spend too much on a single meal.

Any suggestions - mainly for dinner but lunch as well?

One possibility for saving on meals is to check out thefork.com - it claims to be a
tripadvisor company, but it offers reservations, and in some/many cases, discounts
on meals.

I think the deal is that early bird diners (which means 7pm) in France get a discount
which can be non-trivial. We got 20% off a nice place in Lyon and 50% off in Geneva.
Think ethnic as opposed to bouchons.

They were nice neighborhood places, not high temples of dining, but if you want a deal.....

Annecy Old Town is charming but chock-a-block with restaurants so hard to separate the
wheat from the chaff. If you have a vehicle, there are some places in the towns along the
lake that might be worth the drive.
