Restaurant recommendations for Bayeux

Hi everyone. My family and I will be in Bayeux in June this coming summer. I would like to see if anyone can give me some restaurant recommendations based on a few specific things.

We have a few members in our party (all adults) who are not adventurous eaters, but don't necessarily only like classic American fare.

In essence, we would like some restaurant suggestions that have items (and atmosphere) with the French flair, but not necessarily a menu that consists mostly of items that would be deemed gourmet, or that would be very unfamiliar to the average American tourist. We would like to stay in the $$-$$$ dollar sign range. I'm not sure if this is making sense, but any suggestions?

Thank you

It’s been several years, but the reviews for Le Petite Normand seem to be holding up. There are lots of reviews to read that should give you an idea if it’s your kind of place. Others who have been recently may have more suggestions. We asked at our hotel for recommendations and they were excellent.

CM,

You might have a look at Le Pommier Restaurant in Bayeux. It's not exactly a "budget" choice but the food is excellent (worth a spluge, IMHO).

We liked L'Assiette Normande. I think the menu and price range fit your criteria. We are not fancy guys nor fussy about food. We truly enjoyed the meals, but especially the friendly and helpful servers. We returned for a second dinner. They could not have been more welcoming and treated my nephew like a prince. But, I tend to remember this stuff more than what was actually on my plate.

Another vote for Le Pommier. We had a lovely meal there with excellent service. I would recommend making reservations ahead of time. On our last visit to Bayeux, many of the restaurants were fully booked days in advance.
