We will be arriving in Paris from the US on my husband’s birthday and while we’re likely to be jet lagged, it would be nice to celebrate. Can anyone recommend a relaxed but tasty restaurant or bistro for a llight dinner within easy walking distance of the Place de Clichy metro station? Thanks!

Wepler springs to mind. It is one of the historic brasseries. It is good and it is at the Place de Clichy metro station. Depending on how far you want to walk from Place de Clichy, you could stroll away from Montmartre to Rue des Dames (about 10 minutes) and try Mova, which offers a more modern approach to French food. Wepler is open all day until around midnight while Mova has typical French restaurant hours.
