Resources for Americans in Paris & France. eg. expat locations

I shall be spending time in Paris.
Are there helpful expat locations?

I agree with the previous reply. Could you elaborate on what type of locations you're looking for?

You may want to delete your duplicate Thread on this subject, so that you keep replies all in the same place.

I think part of the difficulty I and others have with your questions - that's why you are asked to elaborate - is it is difficult to see the big picture.

For example, this question. Coffee shops - called café - are on every street corner and many between that. If I asked you about coffee shops in midtown NYC, what would you say? Same in Paris.

A little bit more meat on the questions really really helps us volunteers hone in on what you are after.

I know you are new to the board, you've said that, and welcome, but perhaps it would help if you were to read similar questions in the forums you are interested in and see how they went.

The more you share with us, the more we can share with you.

This isn't Twitter - you aren't limited to 140 characters.

These are for expats living there:
The American Church in the 7th
A few organizations-- ie. American spouses of Europeans, etc.
People meet through the American School in St. Cloud

Kim can give you a recent list.

The Internet can help you be more self-sufficient. Google (or 'Yahoo') Paris and expats and the first half-dozen entries are to blogs and groups of, yes, expats in Paris.

Here's a website with tons of info for expats:

http://paris.angloinfo.com/

I think they have different sections according to different parts of the country.

Also there's FUSAC:

I've heard there's some internet thing called Meet-Ups where you go on there and find activities in Paris that are interesting to you . . .

Hi, Welcome. I'm not sure exactly what you are looking for, but here is a link to meet ups (lunch the first Monday of each month) of Americans living abroad. You will meet interesting people, a constantly changing cast of characters.
