Reserving Tickets for various museums after buying Paris Museum Pass

Good Morning/Afternoon,

First time Paris traveler here.
I am about to purchase a Paris Museum Pass online.

What I'd like to know beforehand is what is the process to reserve tickets at different museums
once you've bought the museum pass.
For example, if I want to reserve a ticket for the Louvre, I can't make that reservation without paying for it at the same time, correct?

So, my question is, how do I book the ticket reservation without a payment?
Does each participating museum have something on their site that allows you to show that you've already purchased your
Paris Museum Pass and therefore you're eligible to make a ticket reservation? Otherwise, how does it work?

At least for the Louvre ticket site (ticket.louvre.fr) you will see a separate place/link, a different calendar of dates to choose from, in fact, to reserve "with museum pass." Once the date, time and number of persons are chosen, you will see it costs "0 euros". You then provide your museum account email and password, so it's a good idea to create your account for the particular museum before getting to the reservation details. For the Louvre, that is https://ticket.louvre.fr/inscription.

I did not go further than that because do not have the pass. But presumably either you must provide the pass number, OR the pass itself must be shown at the entrance.
But it definitely says there is no price to pay in this scenario.

Hi David -
The Paris Museum Pass has instructions for making reservations at the few museums that require or advise having them. Here's the link to the page of the website that tells you how.

I don't have a definitive answer on making reservations BEFORE you buy the card but the section for the Louvre indicates that you need the your PMP identification number to do that, at least for that museum:

"To reserve a time slot: go to www.ticketlouvre.fr , select “Visitors with a Paris Museum Pass”, choose the day and time of your visit, indicate your name and your PMP number. You will then be able to download a QR code which will allow you to pass through the first control located at the entrance to the Louvre Pyramid (only access point). You will then have to present your PMP at the various checkpoints of the museum, located under the Pyramid."

Besides the Louvre, which museums are you thinking about visiting? There are only a few museums that need timed entries, otherwise you can just show up at the door with your Museum Pass.
