RER C line in Paris

We are in Paris for five days and had planned to use the Metro and RER C Line for our transportation. This Monday,May 16th the RER C Line access was closed at the St. Michel /Notre Dame station. The RER C Line goes to Versailles, thus leaving us with no transportation to Versailles.

Does anyone have information about this or who to contact for the information. Thank you for your time and advice.

When I do a route search on the RATP website anything for today does not route using RER C but if I use tomorrow's date it does route on RER C so maybe/hopefully it was temporary. There were no service notices about the C line either.

Check the route planner to see if you can get a route from Javel station; if so the it is a temporary central Paris thing and you can easily get to Javel by metro to board the C. There has been a lot of construction on the C in central Paris over the past view years usually they have a bus work around.

Monday 16th May was a public holiday in France, and many other European countries. Maybe they took advantage of the holiday to do some maintenance work. As Janet says, perhaps just one section and you could have picked up Line C further down the line.
Monday is now over, so any web notices have probably been removed.

Today is a better day to go to Versailles, since the Chateau is closed on Mondays.

According to the RATP website (Paris transit authority), a problem with signals at the St Michel/Notre Dame station has caused them to close that station. You can take the RERC at another station.

RER C SNCF (Pontoise - Versailles - Rive Gauche -
Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines - Massy-Palaiseau - Dourdan - Saint-Martin
d'Étampes - Versailles - Chantiers) :

En raison d'une panne de signalisation, l'arrêt Saint-Michel
Notre-Dame n'est pas desservi.

"Due to a breakdown in the signaling system, the stop Saint-Michel Notre-Dame is not being served."
