Hello, upon arrival at Paris CDG I typically take RER B to St Michel and easily walk to my hotel.
I see there is construction on the line but cannot quite figure out if it is just at night or all day. Arrival at CDG is je morning of 9 November, departure is 23 November. I would appreciate any assistance. Thank you,
John
There is often construction which affects only nights. There has also been daytime construction, which has closed the RER B line. If this happens to you, there are replacement buses which will take you to Gare du Nord for the same fare as the train - 10.30€.
After 10 pm during weeknights, and often all day both days during weekends are when it's been closed recently (and the next few weekends).
So it shouldn’t be a problem on the 9th and 23rd, which are both Wednesdays (unless you are arriving or going to the airport vey late at night).
Quick thread bump to see if any can confirm the RER B is running during the day in November. One week out from our trip!
It sounds as though it is only after 10pm until about 7am. (Plus weekends) I found additional information at the CDG website.
Have a wonderful trip. I had to postpone until the spring.
Bon voyage!
The information is available on the RATP website: www.ratp.fr/en
Unfortunately, the maintenance schedules are only available in French: https://www.ratp.fr/en/infos-trafic/rer/b#container
During the month of November, daytime work will require bus service in lieu of rail service on the 11th - 13th, and the 19th and 20th.
A FYI: Thursday, 10th, a lot of metro, bus, and RER transport will be on a one-day strike.
If a bus is substituted, it does not take you to Gare du Nord (at least last April it didn't); it takes you to Stadt du France RER stop where you get the green line to Nord. Yes same 10.30 RER ticket but perhaps confusing to someone not familiar with the system. You just follow everyone else to find the RER stop one dropped on a side street.
I am not quite sure how the return trip TO CDG would work under those conditions.
