Report: Received my QR code for France 8/31/21

I applied by the Area1 email back on 8/10. I received confirmation of my application. My partner got his a week later and I got nothing.

I applied again a couple of weeks later - like the day before the new portal for applications opened up. I then applied by the portal.

My portal application shows that I’ve completed the application but it hasn’t moved forward from there.

This morning I received a QR code from that Area1 email.

Thanks Valerie! Are you saying that you applied two times to Area 1 and one to the new portal?

When do you leave?

Yes, I applied twice via the email system and then, the next morning, found out about the new system. I assumed that was the end of the Area1 email system and so applied via the new portal. We leave mid-September.

I got mine this morning as well. Applied on 8/11 to the area1 email and then applied to the Ministry on 8/26. The QR code came from the area1 email. Scanned my code into the app and I'm good to go!

CaliMom, I received mine this morning after sending it in last Friday but my husband hasn't and he sent his in on Tuesday 24 August. Both were done through the area.1 email. It's just not fair! I want him to feel as excited as I am. In a couple of days I'll try the other link for him.

Submitted mine today. Got the auto reply saying it has been received. My son will do his soon. That has to be from a separate email address, right?

I'm confused. I live in Florida and my card only gives dates, vaccine lot numbers, and the location where I got the doses. Can I apply for a QR code?

@ Susan, f you are going to France, go to https://www.demarches-simplifiees.fr/commencer/passe-sanitaire-etrangers and follow the instructions there. You will need to upload copies of your CDC card, your passport, and ticket as well as complete the information requested in the online application. Your card seems fine to me -- you may be missing the type of vaccine but just add that if it is missing.

Hi Susan, I’m looking at my card and the info. you seem to be missing is the name of vaccine—mine is Pfizer—and your name and birthdate.

When I received my card, I was able to fill in the missing info. Mine was missing the location so I wrote that in. I received my pass today and France didn’t seem to mind that part of my card was in 2 different handwritings and part was a sticker. So, I think as long as you have the necessary info.—even if you’re the one adding it—you should be ok.

None yet from either of the submissions I did - both the original and new ways. Fortunately Darcy and Valerie have
agreed to throw me a crust of baguette as they enjoy sitting inside a bistro for dinner while I am sitting on the curb!!

Darcy and Valerie,

Such good news! To clarify, did you both put your address in France in that residential question or your U.S. home address?

I sent my U.S. home address in my form to the area 1 email address on August 18 then resubmitted yesterday to the new French portal with my France address. I've probably completely confused them! I just noticed that the French portal says Your request has been properly submitted and received and responses usually take 4 days. Fingers crossed.

Thank you in advance!

@Pam - I am kind and generous and actually offered to throw an entire baguette your way as Darcy and I enjoy our meal seated at a table.

@CaliMom - I used my US address on my submission.

Hi there!
Still no luck on QR codes from either our original submissions through the email address nor the new portal submission process.

Has anyone had any luck reaching out to the office directly? What is the email address to reach them?

William, I am betting they are so overwhelmed with applications that an email would just be a nuisance.

As of this morning, my new file is still showing as "under construction". I woke up during the night and checked my email because Darcy had had luck yesterday at 1:37A, lol. I also stayed up until 10P my time last night to see if anyone came into the French offices at 6A to start processing. (I'd read somewhere that people were getting responses between 6 and 10 Paris time).

I am going to try and calm down about this. It is what it is. If I don't have a QR code it won't be from lack of trying. Very few people seem to be having issues with getting in to venues/restaurants/onto trains with the CDC card (or Canada equivalent).

And thank you generous and kind Valerie for the entire baguette, lol! Now to Amorino for ice cream....

I have also applied vis both methods and received nothing. I arrived August 30th., everyone is asking for and accepting. Today I had to pay 30 Euros for a PCR antigen test, I’m going to a concert and it is mandatory to have a QR Code. Regrettably I purchased the ticket before all of the rules changed. Zut alors. Otherwise having fun, the city is not terribly crowded, it’s easy to get into restaurants.

So reading the stats page a little more carefully, apparently 90% of applications are processed within 4 days once they reach the "en instruction" phase. Given mine is still in the "en construction" phase and I applied last Sunday, it doesn't fill me with much confidence I'll receive my QR code before I leave in 8 days. Already preparing to get an antigen test upon arrival as that will be the likely scenario.

Checking with those of you who have received your QR codes, what did you put at the end of the form where it says Fait a

Thank you!

Where it says “Fait a,” you are supposed to write the name of the city where you are when you sign/submit the form.

E.g. “Fait a Houston, Texas, le 01.09.2021”

If you signed /submitted the form from Houston on September 1.

Okay great!

I did it all correctly on my first application submitted on August 17. I used my France address in the new French Connection portal in August 29 but went in and revised to my US address yesterday. The submission date remained the same.

Will keep you posted! 😊

In the event that I do not receive my QR code before I arrive in France (which at this point seems likely), is getting an antigen test at a pharmacy simply a matter of walking in and asking to have one done? Or is it necessary to make an appointment beforehand? Not sure if I'll seek out a pharmacy, or just get the test done at CDG. Latter would seem to make more sense.

Yes, but you are getting hit with 30 Euro every time you get tested and it's only good for 72hrs. And they have to issue you a new pass and QR code every time. IMO, that's ridiculous and I refuse to go through that on top of thousands in travel costs.

There is no reason why they cannot process these expeditiously ... some people have gotten their QR code within 24hrs of submitting, so they can turn these around that fast if they want to.

I have subimtted my Pass Sanitaire request twice now, once through the area1 and once through the website. If France wants my business, they will process my QR code so that I have it 48 hours before I need to get on the plane. If they fail to do this, I cancel everything and I do not go. And I will not be back next year. Pretty simple.

Come on France. Get it together. De-connez vous!!
