Report: Application for QR code on new French website processed and accepted 9/6/21

I applied through the new portal on August 27th. It’s been sitting there with no change since then. Sometime in the last hour - I had checked earlier today and it was unchanged - it was moved to approved and I received a QR code.

It’s interesting, too, because the statistics about the total number processed today show 456 approved applications - and that number was the same both before and after my application was approved.

I’m going to edit this post to mention that they processed 32 applications while I wrote this post, FWIW.

Well, I guess I'll still keep obsessively clicking on that webpage to see if mine updates!

Thank you for posting!

Great news. Thank you for posting. Would you mind sharing your travel date? Nothing has happened to my application and it has been 10 days but I do not leave for two weeks so I figure mine will continue to be on hold and i should not worry until after September 15th.

@JHK - it’s conceivable we’re on the same flight out of SFO:).

Also - to supplement my info: I received an email that says my application was received and will now be examined by the appropriate department. Exactly 3 minutes later, I received another email that stated my application was accepted and my QR code was attached below.

Just curious if we have reached any consensus on how far ahead of arriving in France to apply for the code? All the instructions I’ve read say when you are on the verge of your trip or already there. What would happen therefore if I applied 5 days or a week ahead?

@kevin, if you have travel plans within the next 6 weeks or so I would go ahead and apply. When do you travel? To me they are approving them in a random manner. I'd had an application in on the old site on Aug 20. I helped a friend and her husband wade thru the mess and they applied Aug 25. She got her QR code immediately within days. I have not, nor has her husband. I've applied to the 2nd website as well and still showing under construction.

@Kevin - Pam is right. Apply early. The applications are stacking up and there’s nearly 100,000 pending now.

Yes, over on TripAdvisor a number of people who applied on the 27th have reported receiving their QR codes today. Given I applied on the 29th, I hope I will receive mine soon, if not before I arrive in Paris, then soon after. On the other hand, I have heard of people applying yesterday who aren't going until October receiving theirs, so it still appears there is no rhyme or reason as to the order in which they are being processed.

Okay, so my traveling companion for my upcoming Paris trip did her application using the new system and received her pass 3 minutes after she completed her application. Mine has been sitting in "in progess" for 10 days. She lives on the East Coast and I live on the West Coast so I am now wondering if that makes a difference in processing time. I don't want to add to stress on the system by uploading a new application but on the other hand, I am wondering if my application is in some kind of limbo. I just sent an email to the administrator to ask.

At this point, I've decided not to become unduly worried about it. I leave on Thursday, and given the number of reports I've heard about North American vax certificates being accepted, I'm just going to try not to stress over it anymore. My one booking so far is with the Musee D'Orsay, and they said they'd accept my Canadian vax certificate if I didn't receive my QR code in time. Yes, life would be much easier if I received my QR code in the next couple of days, but I'm tired of stressing over it.

I have my code now so I’m lucky but I’m traveling with two much-less-traveled people who have not received their QR codes. It will be nice to have them but we are prepared to head out anyways even if they don’t get them.
I am following many posts on other sites where people without QR codes are using their CDC cards and generally doing just fine with that.

@JHK, I live on the east coast (Wilmington, NC) and my application has been under construction since last Tuesday August 31st, so I dont think it matters where in the USA you are. Good luck to everyone.

Valerie - it looks like to me that you have interpreted it correctly.

Boy do they have a LOT of applications to get through !!!!! Holy cow.

I woke up this morning and checked my e-mail and there was an email noting a change in status and three minutes later I had my pass. Hooray! For those interested in the timing, I applied on August 28th so it took 7 business days.

We applied under the old/email system 8/26 and then again on 8/28 under the new/online format. We received the QR codes this morning with a travel/departure date of 9/11. Fingers crossed for all the folks with pending applications.

I applied August 28 and received my pass today September 7. Interesting observation, I checked my “dossier” a couple of times, the first status showed, the status as disorganized, the second status showed in progress. Thankfully today I have my Passé Sanitaire and can avoid having to pay 30 euro for a PCR test needed to attend some indoor events. Hang in there everyone. Safe travels.

Thanks for the helpful information. Our trip to France is not until 11/15, which by the contributions to this thread probably means it’s best to apply about 10 days before traveling. Let me know if I am off target.

Just received my health pass this morning! I leave for France tomorrow. I applied for the pass on August 29. They definitely do seem to be working in order of dossier number or date of arrival, so for those still waiting, don't give up hope!

Landed in Paris, 8 Sept, checked my email, and there it was. Applied via the new portal on 8/28.

Now I'm waiting for the TGV in CDG.

Good luck everyone.

We know we are going in October, just haven't set exact dates. Do you have to have the tickets already to apply? Seems this is taking a while and would apply early, but we don't have hard copies of tickets yet.

@JR, including a copy of your flight itinerary is a part of the process, so you would need to know the dates of travel before applying.

Applied for the Pass Sanitaire on August 28. Just received pass for both my husband and me a few minutes ago. Greatly relieved. Keep checking, they seem to have their act together these days.

HI, We applied Sept 1, leave on Saturday Sept 11. I was assuming I would get an email but should I be checking their website for updates? Thanks in advance.
We are flying space available as retired Airline Employees but we still had an itinerary, so hoping that wasn't a hang-up.
WE had very good luck following the directions on these forums to submit it.

Thanks Barbara -- we applied on the 29th and haven't gotten them yet but it does seem to be moving along. Fingers crossed.

My other two travel partners got their QR codes yesterday. They applied at the end of August.
They both got emails on Tuesday requesting clarification on some item of their documents. They both replied within 12 hours. Then, they woke up to QR codes on Wednesday morning. Helpful to know that being singled out for more information does not seem to delay your ultimate receipt of a QR code.

Also good to know that the French aren’t just throwing out applications that don’t have sufficient info — that they are going back to seek the additional/clarifying info in order to be able to grant the code.

"what kinds of clarifications are being requested?"

Janet, I was contacted and asked in which country I was vaccinated. I'd answered it on the form (using Etats-Unis) and it was there when I went back in to review but apparently it did not hold. I answered them, then they asked me to go in and change the form, so I replied back after I did and was approved shortly. I was shocked they took the time to contact me although it was 3 different people over a 10 minute period.

I had added a note in the box listing the address of my first hotel after others were questioning whether address meant US home address or local address in Paris. I was also concerned because my city is French words and the site kept translating them to English, lol. That rattled me so I'd made a note of that as well. Nothing was asked about that.

Valerie, so happy your travel partners got their codes! That will make travel easier!

@Janet - One of my people had used a nickname - shortened version of her first name - to fill out her form. Her vaccine card and passport had her full first name. She went in and changed her name on the website to her full name and was approved.

The other person had a maiden/married name variation between her passport and vaccine card due to how she’s licensed for work. She went in and added her old passport and her driver’s license information with an explanation and was then approved.

I applied 8/28 and received my code today. I think the processing time is averaging around 9-10 days although occasionally someone will apply and get their code the next day.

thanks. I was nervous to print it because I have had QR codes become unretrievable after printing (on train tickets). so after loading them into the tousanticovid ap I did a screenshot and printed those. So we have paper copies of the codes as well as having them on our phones.

And they are still lying in our mailboxes as well so -- belts suspenders and onesies.

Thought I'd add my experience. I applied the evening of Tuesday, Sept. 7, and got my QR code this afternoon. Maybe things are speeding up???

Can I tell a secret? I don’t think I have shown my TousAntiCovid app QR code to anyone yet. (By which I mean pulling out my phone and showing them the QR code on the screen.). I find the paper version so much easier to deal with.

Kim, that is interesting! I've got a printed copy but loaded it onto the TousAntiCovid site AND even though I am not technologically inclined, lol, was able to load a quick link onto my watch face.

I applied via the new portal on August 29. However, after reading several forums, I went back on Sept. 6 and in the comment section added that I was vaccinated in the USA and gave the vaccine type and Lot code I found on my CDC card. I also listed all the hotels I would be staying at (including on a Avalon waterways river cruise) for the entire trip. Only hotel names, city and dates of stay. Last night I received my approval and QR code. I leave on Oct. 12. My husband applied separate from me and added the additional information on Sept. 7. He received his approval and QR code today.

On another note, I am in the Moderna trials for the 3rd vaccine shot (booster) to target the variants. I was in the original trial for the vaccine last summer. I received my 3rd shot (booster) yesterday. I feel crappy, although not as bad as the first 2 shots. Back to travelling!

Barbara….glad you both received your QR codes! That feels good! That has caused extra stress for many on this forum! We applied yesterday. We fly to Paris Oct 1. Hoping that 3 wks was a goodly amount of time!? You gave a lot of info on your application. It worked! We both got our Moderna doses completed early March. Was wishing we could get booster before we go. My oncologist highly encouraged I do that. Likely not going to happen in time? Thank you tho for being part of their trials!! We both felt ok after our shots! Sorry you didn’t!? Good you’ll all ready to travel!

are you sure you can't just go into a local pharmacy and get your third shot? Those with immuno issues are authorized now for the third shot -- you just sign the sheet attesting to your being in that category. I know people who have gotten their third Moderna that way and since your oncologist recommends it I would not hesitate to do whatever you need to make it happen.

We are in the US and most pharmacies are offering the vaccine and you can easily make an appointment or just walk in.

Thanks Janet. I tried 2 local pharms this week. I don’t fit the criteria yet. Will check into more widespread vacc sites this nxt week. Maybe more availability in my area in Ohio soon. Ii hear other states are offering it. Thanks for encouragement! Every little bit helps!

al2al -- if your oncologist recommends it I don't see why you can't sign off on the authorization sheet for the third shot -- no other paperwork is required. If under treatment and your doctor has recommended it you can certainly sign off as immunocompromised without fear of dishonesty. No one follows these up.

We've been in France for a week but one of our two Pass Sanitares came through in email! How do we get it on our phone? Do we simply download it and screen shot to save in our Photos? Or, I believe there was mention of an app.

Thanks in advance!

download the tousanticovid ap on your phone and take a picture of the QR code with your phone and it will load and you will have a site on your phone with your pass -- there are two versions -- one for use in restaurants etc and one for border crossings which includes more detail -- you easily flip between the two when you bring up your pass.

For anyone tracking, it appears they are going in order of App #. We applied on 8/30, arrived in France on 9/10 and received QR code on 9/14. App # was 5358***.

We have been OK with only CDC cards everywhere but most restaurants are at least looking at them.

Brian, yes that makes perfect sense given I was number 5355075 - Submit on August 29 2021.

I don't think this is entirely true. Some people have had their application processed and received a QR code in ~15 minutes. It seems to be at least somewhat ad hoc as to when they process the application.

I came here to share the same news! I submitted an application for my husband and myself on August 30th, and this morning I saw two e-mails in quick succession that let me know that the applications were under review and then approved. They must have done a big batch of reviews today. We're traveling to Paris in early October and it's a relief to see this taken care of. I have heard from multiple people who have been in Europe (and at least one of them in Paris) that your paper vaccination is quite sufficient too, though.

It does seem like the QR code approval process is speeding up.

I've been paying attention to the statistics website. As of now they're showing 23,351 files fully processed. Yesterday morning that number was 16,533 fully processed. So, 29% of the files processed have been completed in the last day. I think that would indicate they've noticed the backlog and are working to address the problem.
