My husband and I, Canadian citizens, are planning to rent a car in Arras and drive to the various War Monuments. Do we need a special drivers license? Permit? We have a Canadian Drivers Licence.

France requires an International Driving Permit (IDP), or a notarized French translation of your license, in addition to your valid Canadian driving license. You can get one at your nearest CAA office and you will need 2 passport size photos. They are valid for 1 year and each person who will be driving will need one. Now, if your Canadian license is in both English and French (may be the case in Quebec Province), then I think you would be ok with just your license.
