My husband is 71. Will age be a problem to rent a car in France?
He should not have any problem. I'm older than your husband and have not had any problems with car rentals in France, including for an upcoming trip.
I suppose it could vary according to who you rent from but I've never heard of anything like that. We use Gemut.com because of their 24/7 English-language assistance (which we've never had to use).
There are maximum age- based restrictions in certain countries but France is not one of them. You can check at https://www.autoeurope.com/travel-tips/rental-car-age-requirements/.
Luv2Travel,
My husband had no trouble renting a car in France at age 80. I am the other driver at 79. No problems.
No problem with a bog standard car. It may be a few euros more for insurance, depending on the company.
Some high end/high powered/bigger cars may not be available for older drivers
Thank you all, reassuring to know.
