Rental in Provence area through VRBO/Airbnb

Has anyone rented recently through VRBO/Airbnb in or near Saint Remy de Provence? Is it legal to rent flats/homes outside of Paris? If so, have you been happy with your stay, the host/owner and VRBO/Airbnb? Thank you.

Hello,
It is legal to rent (VRBO/Airbnb) outside of Paris.

Some cities require owners to obtain a license or registration number to list their places on a platform like Airbnb/VRBO, This registration number must be displayed in the rental proposal.

Hi Jessica,
My husband and I are currently in Provence, three weeks into a seven-week trip to Provence and Brittany. So far, we have stayed at airbnb’s in Cavaillon/Coustellet (fabulous B& B, highly recommend!), L’Isle Sur La Sorgue (also quite nice, an apartment, perfect location on the canal across from the petanque court), and a third stay at a gorgeous place in Apt (old 16th century apartment right on the main street, La Marchand, carefully and lovingly restored by a very nice British couple—just ideal!). All three places were accurate as described and we have been very pleased. Airbnb is easy-peasy to book through, changes are prompt and simple, refunds processed immediately. We have booked two other places directly with the owners, and the process was not nearly as easy. All of our stays in Brittany are through Airbnb except one which my husband found on Google Earth and we booked directly with a very nice British lady (who obviously speaks English😏). Probably more info than you wanted, but if you want the names of the places, I will be happy to share them. We were the first Americans in two years to stay with our hosts in Cavaillon, and they were delighted to welcome us.

Here is the link to the bnb near Cavaillon, you might search for Le Mas du Castelas or bed and breakfast in Luberon if the link doesn't work:

If you are going to stay a whole week, and can do a wednesday to wednesday, I would highly recommend Untours! Price includes rental car, staff on the ground, Anne, who will take you to a welcome dinner and is full of tips and ideas, we even got a bag of groceries when we arrived. It was fantastic! The exact apartment we rented in Pernes les Fontaines isn't available anymore, but the current ones all look great.
