I need to return a Europcar rental to Lyon airport very early on Saturday morning. How often does the shuttle back to the terminals run? Is it all night? I don't want to be stuck at car rental drop off with no way to terminal one.
And can you easily drop off a passenger with lots of luggage, skiis included, at terminal one, then go to Europcar return and just take the shuttle back to terminal one?

Yes, drop off is possible at the terminal, no problem.
If the shuttle does not run, with minimal luggage it is walkable from the rental car agencies to the airport. 15-20 minutes, along "rue de Bulgarie" on Google maps - a protected and signposted path. I've done it once from the train station to the rental car agencies, with luggage, and it was OK!

Thanks for the reply.
We have luggage and two ski bags, so it's not easy to walk to terminal after car drop off.
We would need the shuttle or drop someone off earlier at the terminal with luggage and then return car.

As I wrote, you can drop off your passenger at the terminal beforehand, with all the luggage. There is a drop off, "dépose-minute" in French. Then the driver goes to the rental car area. Shuttle or no shuttle, that's how I would proceed!
