Traveling to France for a week. First half of trip will be in Paris and second half will be driving to and visiting Normandy, perhaps Brittany. Need to rent a car for that second half. Would pick up mid-week and need to return to CDG. Likely to be staying on the right bank near the train stations. Looking for recommendations on a rental company where I could pick up the car in Paris, avoiding the time/travel to pick up at CDG, and return to CDG a few days later.
We did this trip a few years ago. To avoid driving in Paris we trained to Mantes-la-Jolie and picked up our car. Rental company as right outside the station. On a side note we had trouble with the car in Honfleur, kept stalling, and they were there within the hour. The trouble was the floor mat kept causing my husband to stall out (it was a standard). Small adjustment needed!
Are you sure you want to pick up the car in Paris? That would mean driving in Paris which I would not recommend. I'd suggest taking the train to e.g. Caen and rent the car there instead.
You say "the train stations." IDK which you mean, but I rented a year ago from the Hertz location at Porte Maillot on my way to Rouen in Normandy. It was a short bus ride or long walk from Gare Saint-Lazare, and is located very close to the periphery roads. So if they point you in the right direction when leaving, you will be out of city traffic proper in no time and on your way.
