We want to rent a car in Colmar on a Saturday, then drive through some of the wine towns on our way to Strasbourg where we will stay the night. This looks like the best option since trains do not go to the smaller towns. Since we have an early train the following morning, we want to turn the car in Sat. evening - will have to check agency hours and see if they have key drop. Technically this is a one day rental.
Avis looks like the most convenient in Colmar with an office near the train station and a drop off at Strasbourg train station. Avis rate is $117.72 for the day for a Economy Peugeot 208 - $56.68 for the rental and a $41.43 surcharge and the rest in taxes. (have not added insurance to this yet).
Europcar has the same car for a total of $87.40 and that includes full insurance coverage. While Europcar sounds like the best deal, am having trouble figuring out where the rental office is. It looks a bit of a ways out of town, so figuring with adding taxi, will it still make the most sense? Looks like the pick up was at Colmar IKC - 47 Route De Strasbourg and drop off is downtown Strasbourg at 16 Place de la Gare.
Any suggestions welcome - and if you know of other inexpensive options - open to those too!

That Europcar office is at Colmar airport, which may not have any commercial air traffic. You probably would take a taxi. I did not explore the bus schedule link at https://www.tourisme-colmar.com/en/public-transport.
