Hi! I have been trying to rent a car at the Bordeaux station and return it in Sarlat or nearby, but am having trouble finding anything. Has anyone had luck doing this?

Have you checked with AutoEurope.com or AutoEurope.eu?
I see offerings on both (same company, sometimes .eu is cheaper)

See Europcar, they have offices at Bordeaux airport and train station and to my knowledge it's the only rental company to also have an office in Sarlat

I've rented from gemut.com to pick up a car at the Bordeaux station in late Sept. Headed to Sarlat that afternoon. I rent from them every time I need a car in Europe. Highly recommend.

Have you considered taking the train to Sarlat and then picking up rental car there? There is a EuropeCar office within walking distance (about 1/2mile downhill) from train station. We found driving in the Dordogne to be a bit challenging - Google Maps navigation took us up and over mountains and onto dead end roads!
