Any recommendations for a legit agency in Paris? Thank you.
I wish that I knew of one that handled only registered short term apartments.
If there is one, perhaps someone will post it here.
What I have done recently is google Paris rental apartments and accumulate a long list of agencies, then go through them looking for apartments with the 13 digit reg number. They appear to be few and far between.
One way to go is to book with the aparthotels such as Citadines. And there are others. From the photos they appear to lack local charm but there are lots of them in in many different Parisian neighborhoods.
Thank you!

www.booking.com only lists registered apartments.
Most of the rental agencies in Paris were handling pied-a-terre apartments or secondary homes which are, for the most part, illegal to rent in Paris. The problems have not generally been rental agencies per se, the problem has been with the inventory they list.
Tocard -- thank you!
Thank you. What about airbnb?
AirBnB is subject to the same rental regulations as any other short-term rental.
Airbnb lists apartments. Is that your question? They list them and some have registration numbers and some do not. As far as I know, booking.com is the only site whose Paris listings all have registration numbers. The Rick Steves book lists a number of agencies. They are "legit" businesses.
I am somewhat familiar with airbnb and just wondered why it is not listed on sites that recommend agencies.
I thought maybe it was perceived as being too big to service clients or something like that.
Thank you!
JUST IN FRANCE
We have rented apartments in Paris from them several times. Excellent service. US based 0ffice near Phila.
AirBnB is just a listing service, it doesn't offer concierge-type services you asked about on another post.
Thank you! I decided I don't really need a concierge service,
as most of the owners seem to be available to some extent.
hey karen
here's a couple other sites to check:
bed-and-breakfast-in-paris.com
alcove&agapes.com
myhabitat.com (new york base)
cross-pollinate.com
we used cross-pollinate with no problems, read fine print, what floor and if lift/elevator, cash euros on arrival.
legit agency, they could say yes and turns out not with many bad reviews. keep reading is due diligence. just my 3 cents. we rented a 2bed/1bath apartment in the 7th thru trip advisor. she lives in montana part time and family place part time. we had a nice holiday.
aloha
thank you!
I rent through Cobblestone Paris, http://cobblestoneparis.com, Rick Steves also endorses them. I will be renting again from them for my May/June trip next year.
Enjoy your trip.
A quick check through the listings of Cobblestone Paris doesn´t reveal a single city required registration number. Did I miss something?
MorningCrossaint.com is another one we have used besides AirBnB and VRBO
